ATTENTION: MANAGING PARTNER/OFFICER, CASHIER, ACATS MANAGER, SYSTEMS MANAGER

SUBJECT: NEW ACATS SYSTEM

As you are aware NSCC, working with the Industry, has completed the redesign of the ACATS System that will be implemented on January 25, 1999. The purpose of this notice is to reiterate the importance of this project and strongly encourage our participants to stay up to date with all ACATS developments. We cannot stress enough the necessity for all participants to TEST in preparation for CONVERSION and IMPLEMENTATION.

In conjunction with the upcoming training seminars scheduled the first week of November, we will be mailing the ACATS reference manual next week to the firm=s ACAT Coordinator.

Please keep these KEY DATES in mind:

November 16, 1998; Production Testing will commence. All participants are strongly encouraged to test during this period which ends on January 21, 1999.

January 22, 1999 is the weekend of the conversion from the old ACAT System to the new system. NSCC will convert data in the old system into the new system.

January 25, 1999 is the first production day for the new system.
