SUBJECT: NSCC DISCONTINUES SUGGESTED NAME MATCHING ON AMEX OCS TRANSACTIONS
In conjunction with the American Stock Exchange (Amex), National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) will discontinue suggested name matching for Amex comparison data effective from and after Thursday, June 28, 2001. Trades that would previously have resulted in suggested name matches (M3, fully suggested name match or M4, partially suggested name match) will remain unmatched until resolved in the NYSE On-Line Comparison System (OCS).
The Amex anticipates introducing a new intra-day equity comparison system (IDCE) in the fourth quarter of 2001. When introduced, that system will allow the Amex to match trades on a real-time basis and transmit them to NSCC as locked-in.
Participants will be notified as to further developments as additional information becomes available.
The American Stock Exchange (Amex) has outlined their planned modifications in their companion information circular.
