SUBJECT:  ADDITIONAL INDICATOR FOR THE NEW NASDAQ PRODUCT "PRIMEX" IDENTIFIED ON NSCC'S OTC "T" AND SECOND SESSION CONTRACTS

In a continuing effort to accommodate its customers and the various marketplaces, the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) will modify its OTC equity trade output to reflect the Nasdaq Stock Market's implementation of a new trading system referred to as "Primex." The service, formally referred to as the "Primex Auction System," will be made available by the Nasdaq on September 10, 2001. Details regarding "Primex" may be accessed via the Nasdaq Website www.nasdaqtrader.com under the section titled "Hot Topics."

As a result, effective with trade date September 10, 2001, NSCC will expand the "Source of Trade" fields on the print image contracts and the Machine Readable Output (MRO) formats to include the indicator "X" for "Primex" as presented below. These file formats, as well as all other Participant file formats, are available at NSCC's website, http://formats.nscc.com
