SUBJECT: NETWORK DISASTER RECOVERY TESTOn Sunday, February 10, 2002, a communications disaster recovery test will be conducted of SIAC’s Manhattan facility. This test will involve all participants who access Manhattan via a communication link. The purpose of the test is to assure that we have the ability to switch all communications access to Brooklyn and verify participant connectivity to this facility.
On this day, SIAC will bring down the communications links into the Manhattan facility. The following disaster procedures will be followed:
For Leased Line connections with dual site capability, SIAC will switch primary connections at Manhattan to the Brooklyn Facility, the backup site.
For Leased Line connections with just Dial backup, SIAC will fail connections at Manhattan, which will invoke the dial backup and re-establish a connection at the Brooklyn Facility.
For all Dial connections to Manhattan, SIAC will ask participants to use the alternate site backup phone number for Brooklyn.
For T1 (Mux Connections), arrangements will be made on an individual basis, to determine the designated ports to be used.
For Frame Relay connection with dual PVCs capability, SIAC will disable PVC access to Manhattan.
Test Procedures
It is requested that all participants actively take part by receiving a test file. This test will be for output from SIAC only. Upon receipt of this file, we ask that you contact SIAC and verify that you have received it successfully.
