| SUBJECT: | NSCC TO INCLUDE MNEMONIC INFORMATION ON THE American Stock Exchange (Amex) INTRA-DAY MRO |
Effective the processing date of Friday, September 12, 2003, the National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) will provide mnemonic information from the American Stock Exchange within the Amex Intra Day MRO field: “Major Entering Broker” (a.k.a. “Entering Firm Mnemonic”). This implementation is part of NSCC’s continuing industry initiative to provide additional data elements to the trading community.
The Major Entering Broker field currently exists on the Amex intra day MRO as a blank field. Beginning September 12, 2003, this field will contain mnemonic symbols. This is a four-byte field, located at position 47. It appears on the Amex intra-day MRO as follow:
