I. ACATS Enhancements
NSCC’s ACATS Important Notice A5616, P&S 5186 dated May 20, 2003 and
Important Notice A5614, P&S 5224 dated July 31, 2003, described the enhancements
to ACATS and the participant testing schedule for the ACATS enhancements scheduled
for implementation in the 3rd and 4th quarter of 2003. NSCC’s Fund/SERV Important
Notice A5627, P&S 5197 dated June 10, 2003, A5628, P&S 5198 dated
June 11, 2003 and Important Notice A5664, P&S 5234 dated August 14, 2003,
described the ACATS Fund/SERV enhancements and testing specifications. ACATS
will be implementing an additional enhancement to ACATS Fund/SERV on October
27, 2003. The changes are as follows:
A. A new Social Code value will be added to the Mutual Fund Registration
(FR) record.
Effective Monday, October 27, 2003 NSCC will be adding a new value to the existing Social Code data field on the ACATS Mutual Fund Registration (FR) record. A new Social Code value of “42” for an Institutional Trust Account will be added. This new value will indicate to the fund that this is a trust account and that the fund does not have to do the tax reporting. Please refer to NSCC’s Fund/SERV manual for a complete listing of the Social Code list.
These changes require modifications to both the fixed and variable length input and output file layouts. There will also be changes made to the Fund Registration input screen on PC Web Direct. Participants can begin testing this enhancement on Tuesday, September 23, 2003. This new value will be added to the following ACATS input and output files:

Fixed Length AutoRoute #02090724.
- ACATS Registration Detail Report (Print Image) Multi-Cycle Transaction Report AutoRoute #02090710 and End-of-Day Transaction Report AutoRoute #02090711.
