SUBJECT: NSCC TO PROVIDE TWO ADDITIONAL VALUES ON ITS NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE (NYSE) INTRA-DAY MRO

In conjunction with the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the National Securities Clearing Corporation will provide two additional values on its intra-day machine-readable output (MRO) for NYSE transactions during First Quarter 2004.  The two new values will be part of the existing “CAP ORDER Execution field”.  This field will be renamed “Floor Entered Electronic Order Identifier” to more clearly reflect all values.

Participants are being notified in advance so they can prepare for this modification. NSCC will announce the exact implementation date in a subsequent notice.

The “Floor Entered Electronic Order Identifier” field is currently defined in position 365 on the NYSE Intra-Day Contract MRO (AutoRoute #02013036) as a 1-byte alpha/numeric field, populated with a value of ‘4’.
