| SUBJECT: | MUTUAL FUND PROFILE SERVICE – EDITING CHANGES TO SELECT FIELDS IN SECURITY ISSUE RECORD TYPES |
Effective Saturday, November 20, 2004 the editing criteria for select fields on three (3) record types within Mutual Fund Profile Service Phase II (MFPS II), Security Issue, will be modified.
In addition, a new Security Profile Reject Code, 0507, will be added to indicate when the NASDAQ Symbol field is invalid.
Sixteen (16) fields will be changed from required to optional on the affected record types. Funds will now have the option of completing these fields or leaving a space. However, as a best practice, funds should make every effort to populate all fields in the records where possible.

Testing of the editing changes of the affected records in MFPS II Security Issue will be accommodated in the Participant Services Environment (PSE) region on the mainframe, beginning Saturday, October 23, 2004.
PCWeb Direct users will be accommodated in the PCWeb Direct PSE region starting Saturday, November 13, 2004.
Participants wishing to test must contact the Enterprise Service Center (ESC) by calling the NSCC Production Support Hotline at 212-855-1144, option 5, option 2. To ensure proper set up for the PSE region, it is requested that at least three days prior notice be provided to ESC.
