NSCC BEGINS PROCESSING NEW FOREIGN iShares INDEX SECURITY


The National Securities Clearing Corporation will include an additional foreign index securities in its foreign index security file on Wednesday, September 29, 2004.  The Index Receipt Agent for the new index security is Investors Bank and Trust.   Clearing and trading information pertinent to the new funds follow:

Unlike domestic index securities, the new iShares includes foreign stocks that do not clear and settle through the NSCC Continuous Net Settlement System (CNS) or the NSCC Balance Order Accounting Settlement system.  Consequently, NSCC will not accept locked-in create or redeem instructions for the new iShares, will not burst it into its underlying components and will not guarantee its cash amounts.  This information is used solely in the Foreign Portfolio Composition File.
